The grand wall of Kumbhalgarh fort which covers the boundary of the entire fortress is considered to be the longest wall in the world right after 'The Great Wall of China'. It is famous as 'The Great Wall of India'. The wall stretches over a distance of 36 km. It is 15 m wide which is wide enough for eight horses to walk abreast.
The Kumbhalgarh Fort wall is constructed by using the stone bricks and passes through the valleys of the Aravali ranges and ends at the top of the Aravali hill.
Under the reign of Mewar kings in Rajasthan, the majestic Kumbhalgarh fort and the Great Wall was built by Rana Kumbha in the 15th century between AD 1443 and 1458 under the direction of Mandan who was a very renowned architect of that time. Inside the Great Wall many magnificient architecture of Rajputana style is located like Badal Mahal (Palace of Cloud), a famous Shiva Temple etc. The Fort is birth place of the Legendary Rajput King Maharana Pratap who was a great warrior.

By Train : Kumbhalgarh does not have railway station. The nearest railway stations are Udaipur and Falna which are respectively 85km and 80km away from Kumbhalgarh. Tourists can hire a taxi or take a bus to reach Kumbhalgarh.
By Road : Kumbhalgarh does not have its bus station but buses from other cities have stoppage here. People can take a bus from Udaipur, Falna, Ajmer, Jodhpur, and Pushkar to reach Kumbhalgarh.
